Period dramas are the best, right? We learn so much about history. Like, the financial burdens of death taxes. And also, the wide variety of homemade poisons. Education is so important. Without Downton Abbey, how would we know about the financial burdens of rich English landowners in the early Twentienth Century. And without Reign, how would we know about the pillow fights that went on at royal weddings? Invaluable. In the latest edition of the Heroine TV Podcast, Crissy Calhoun and my sister Francesca joined me to discuss two such important historical dramas. Downton discussion is up first, covering plot details from the season four premiere on PBS. Reign raving starts at the 30:16 mark, as we discuss the first eight episodes of season one. If you would like to listen to the auditory expression of pure joy, please listen to this latest podcast, and laugh along with us. Enjoy! (And watch Reign when it returns on January 23 at 9/8c on The CW.)

Downton is sooo much better this season! No more bizarre deaths! I know the creator of the show didn't have a choice because the actors wanted to leave but still that car crash with Matthew was just weird!

I disagree on Édith though, she still bugs me! That married guy is not even cute!

I still haven't watched Reign but you guys seem midly interested.... lol

Great podcast!
