Heroine TV’s 4th Blogversary & TVD Bag Giveaway!

Happy Blogversary to me! Today, Heroine TV turns 4 years old. Hurrah! Thankfully, I won’t be celebrating in a crypt, or getting bitten by a werewolf tonight. Instead, I’ll be eating pie, and watching the Emmys. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my site, whether it has been reading my posts, listening to my podcast, guest-hosting on my podcast, talking to me on Twitter, retweeting, liking on Facebook, or telling people on the street (feel free to make signs). I really appreciate it. So much. I have been lucky enough to make some real friends through this blog and Twitter, and it really means a lot. Over the past year, I have had some really cool opportunities–like interviewing writers and actors involved in some of my favorite shows–and none of that would have been possible without you guys. So, thank you again. I really mean it.
My blog posts haven’t been as frequent as I would have liked over the past year, and over the next few months Heroine TV may get even quieter. I’m working on finishing up my dissertation, so I need to focus more closely on that for the foreseeable future. This means that I won’t be writing regular recaps of The Vampire Diaries this season. If all goes well, I will earn my Ph.D. in the spring. Fingers crossed! (If it doesn’t go well, let’s just forget this post ever happened. Shhhh.)
At the same time, I am experimenting with having my first guest posts on Heroine TV, so you can look forward to posts from my new contributor, Emily, who will be recapping Revenge this season. We hope to podcast together, and if that works out, we’ll be releasing the Heroine TV Podcast on a more regular basis.
But back to the Blogversary! To celebrate this auspicious occasion, I am giving away my Vampire Diaries bag from San Diego Comic-Con. Warner Bros. hands out these gigantic bags for free, to each attendee. Mine has been hanging in my closet, ready to be sent to one lucky winner, but I kept forgetting. Oops. To win the bag (pictured on the left), just comment on this post, saying that you want to be entered to win. This contest is open to everyone (I’ll send the bag to any country in the world, but I’m limiting it to Earth), and I’ll pick the winner randomly and contact that person via email. You have to enter an email to comment on this site, but it will never be made public. The contest is open until Sunday, September 30th at 11:59pm PT. Also, I’m experimenting with a new commenting system, so let me know what you think. Update: Because of the new comment system, people can comment via Twitter, which doesn’t require an email address.
