I have a really fun web series to recommend to you today: Dating Rules from My Future Self. In case you haven’t seen it, Dating Rules is a web series currently in its second season and it can be viewed on YouTube and Hulu. It comes from Alloy Entertainment, the producers of The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and more.

The first season of Dating Rules stars Shiri Appleby (Roswell, Life Unexpected) as Lucy, a girl uncertain about love and her future. The series follows her romantic journey, and also stars Bryce Johnson (Popular, Pretty Little Liars) as her boyfriend, and Taylor Kinney (The Vampire Diaries) as said boyfriend’s roommate. Rounding out the cast are Lucy’s two delightful roommates, played by Alison Becker (Parks and Recreation) and Mircea Monroe (Episodes). Oh, and it’s totally sci-fi because there’s a phone app that allows Lucy to talk to her future self and get advice. Hence, the title. I have embedded the first part of the nine episode first season below.

Season two features a whole new cast, led by Candice Accola, The Vampire Diaries’ own Caroline Forbes. Accola plays Chloe Cunningham, another woman who gets help from her older and wiser future self, thanks to Lucy’s love app. The first five episodes have already been released, and you can keep up with new ones by subscribing on YouTube or Hulu, or liking the Dating Rules Facebook page. Enjoy!
