the love triangle plus the whole vampire mythology thing is what has ppl watching so the longer elena stays confused the longer the viewers stay invested.

Heee. You have to admit, Evilaric is fantastic and super sexy ( I mean..more than usual ).

After Kol and Damon scenes, I am starting to think that for some reason the Originals need to keep the Salvatores alive.
Kol wanted revenge, but he simply beat Damon up without killing him..it makes no sense.
And Klaus could have killed Damon and Stefan thousands of times and yet they are still alive!
I know Klaus loooooves Stefan, but the guy killed HIS OWN MOTHER.
Why would he let Stefan and Damon live when they have tried to kill him so many times?

You know I love Damon and I obviously adored all of his scenes with Elena, so I still cannot believe that stupid Rose almost ruined this moment for me.
And you are totally right: Stefan is pure of heart???
NO ONE is pure of heart in Mystic Falls ( well, except Matt ) : it’s the point of this show, and it’s why I love it!!

Aside from Rose, this episode was fantastic – but are they ever going to tell Jeremy the truth about his compulsion?

ps: your mental breakdown over Alaric’s murderous alter ego is PRICELESS. I just want them to keep him forever.

The only Melville I’ve read is ‘Billy Budd,’ and it didn’t exactly inspire me to check out the rest of his work. That said, Moby Dick is such a part of the popular culture, that I can always appreciate a good Moby Dick joke.

And then I think the car situation was like half and half. Because he was killed by a car which isn’t supernatural but it was driven by a hybrid. I thought that was the best fandom could come up with. But I do think the ring is still a bit wonky.

I love you for all your Rose comments. I still can’t unsee “dripping with sex” *shudder*.

And uh the Moby Dick stuff, Julie made a joke about unspoken dialogue: “Klaus: “Moby Dick? I see from your many failed attempts to kill me, you haven’t read it. Spoiler alert: the whale lives.”
Otherwise someone else can get into that symbolism. There’s actually quite a bit that’s prevalent to TVD, especially Klaus & Stefan’s dynamic but I still haven’t gotten over freshman lit when we spent an entire month on that stupid book.

Matt has been really strong this season,but they have to do something with the character otherwise he’s not really important to the story and that’s sad!

The one I’m really worried about is Jeremy. Nothing is ever done without an agenda on this show and I keep going back to the letter evilalaric wrote to Jeremy…Something will go down where they think it’s Alaric but really it’s Jeremy or something…
