ABC Family Summer Premieres
As many of our favorite network shows are winding down, it’s time to get excited for summer cable programming. ABC Family has some great stuff in store. At the top of my list is Bunheads, the upcoming series that is executive-produced by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Yep, ASP is coming back to TV. And what’s more, Kelly Bishop, Emily Gilmore herself, has been cast as the mother-in-law of lead Sutton Foster. Bunheads premieres on Monday, June 11th at 9:00PM ET/PT. The official description reads: “Bunheads is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school.” I like the small town aspect, and judging by the title it is dancer-centric. It could be really fun, and I have certainly missed Amy Sherman-Palladino’s voice on television. Copper boom!
This summer also marks the returns of Pretty Little Liars and Jane By Design. Tune in on Tuesday, June 5th at 8:00PM ET/PT to see the fallout from this spring’s “A” reveal, and (hopefully) learn further clues about the killer of Alison DiLaurentis. Immediately following Pretty Little Liars, stay tuned for the return of Jane By Design on Tuesday, June 5th at 9:00PM ET/PT. After the spring finale cliffhangers, and the big turning point of Ben finding out the truth, I’m excited to see more of Jane’s adventures.
And don’t worry, Switched at Birth fans, the show will return with new episodes in the fall. Meanwhile, I’ll be crossing my fingers for The Lying Game to be renewed. (Pretty pretty please, ABC Family.) For full details on all of ABC Family’s summer programming, check out the official press release.
