MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING: Joss does Shakespeare
This is old news to most of you, but I haven’t had a chance to geek out about it yet, so here goes. Apparently, Joss Whedon decided to spend his post-Avengers-filming vacation making a movie with his wife, Kai Cole. And not just any movie, but the Shakespeare comedy Much Ado about Nothing, shot in black and white. And that’s not all. Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof play the central couple in the piece, Beatrice and Benedick. Bestill my Fred and Wes loving heart! I mean, Winifred Burkle and Wesley Wyndam-Price are my favorite television couple EVER (I am not kidding), so this just fills me with so much joy. And not only do Denisof and Acker get to be reunited in a project, they get to be snarky and witty and IN LOVE. I mean, seriously? Thank you, Joss. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Additional Whedonverse actors populate the upcoming film too: Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Tom Lenk, Fran Kranz, and Reed Diamond. Um, the portrayers of Cap’n Tight Pants, Simon Tam, Andrew Wells, Topher Brink, and Laurence Dominic ALL TOGETHER in one movie? The world is a magical wonderful place. Rainbows and sunshine everywhere, I tell you. Unicorn and cupcake overload. You can find out more about the project on the official site, which includes the full press release. Also, check out an exclusive interview with Whedon, Maher, and Acker over at EW.com, including fabulous productions stills. And Joss talked to Rookie, a web magazine catering to teenage girls, for an amazingly entertaining interview that is unmissable. Go read now, if you missed them. And then feel free to come back and squee in the comments.

Double rainbows and unicorn sparkles for everyone! Lol it almost makes up for the fact that I’m still waiting for a Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog: The Uber Amazing Sequel. Fred+Wesley=<3!
Oh wow I can’t wait! Fred and Wesley! Thanks for bringing this to my attention I had no idea!
Yay! From what I read, the film will be shown in the festival circuit first, so I can’t wait until it’s more widely available.
You know, I heard something about this but thought it was me hallucinating so I am glad I was scrolling around on your website and saw this! I mean. This is an OMG moment for sure. Fred/Wes! I mean, Acker or Denisof on their own is amazing but hell, together they are such a great onscreen team.
Joss Whedon is one of the people that I will fangirl about so hard I’ll start tearing up. It seems silly to me, but I really do care THAT much about how amazing he is and about the things he creates. I should probably stop making fun of the Twilight fans who cry about Robert Pattinson.
Haha! Yes, it felt like a hallucination for sure. And I am the same when it comes to Joss fangirling, Jessica. Kindred spirits.
