The Nine Paths to Chloe King: The Second Path

2011 May 26

For those of you playing the Nine Paths to Chloe King game, the time has come to take the Second Path on our journey!  There is a new symbol to unlock over at the ABC Family game site, so go ahead and do that first so that I don’t spoil any of the mystery.  But then make sure to come back here, because I have goodies. If you are not yet playing, check out my introductory post from Tuesday.  (The game is fun!  Seriously.)

Earlier today, I received an email that included the following excerpt from the Nine Paths Prophecy: “As the Circle of Strangers’ knowledge of the Mai grows deeper, their dedication shall be tested and the dangers shall be greater.  The Path to The Uniter promises to be full of risk, but from this risk comes incredible rewards.” Also, this photo was attached:

I was then instructed to answer three questions.

  1. What is the ancient Egyptian name for this statue?
  2. What very warm and bright star did ancient Egyptians originally connect to this statue?
  3. What city in Egypt contained a “cult” that was dedicated to the Goddess connected to this statue?

In case you aren’t up on your Egyptian mythology, the statue of the cat represents the goddess Bastet.  And the “very warm and bright star” associated with her is the sun.  As for the city, that is Bubastis.  Once I figured out the answers, I was then instructed to enter the three answers (Bastet sun Bubastis) as search terms in YouTube, and here is the video I discovered:

This video is a bit longer than the one you unlocked on the ABC Family site, so hopefully this will help you along your way.  Plus, I’m loving all this back story that we’re getting on the Mai. The Mai connection to Egyptian mythology is pretty awesome. The Second Path was even more fun than the First. Now we must patiently await the Third Path.  (Or impatiently, in my case.  I’m just having too much fun.)

WOW LUCIA, great site, and clearly successful! Good for you! How you fit this in with your PhD program I don’t know. But as Matthew and I always said in grad school, “She’s a machine!” I can’t comment specifically on your topics because I’m utterly clueless. It’s like another language… I’ve never heard of these shows. But I want to support you, and your blog. I know how much effort it can take to maintain one. Sometimes I think I’ll give up on mine but then, I want to get to the point where I’m really living up to the title of it, really living an Italian Dream!
