Heroine TV Podcast: Pears, Chrysanthemums, Fairies, and Vampire Politics
[Updated post]: Here is the second Heroine TV Podcast, originally recorded and released on August 27th, and edited a few days later to resolve some audio quality problems. This week, Francesca and I discussed Mad Men season four, episodes 4 and 5: “The Rejected” and “The Chrysanthemum and the Sword.” We also talked True Blood season three, episodes 9 and 10: “Everything is Broken” and “I Smell a Rat.” Mad Men talk is first, and the True Blood talk starts around the 63 minute and 20 second mark. Heads up, there is some vague discussion of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, but nothing too spoilery or specific. You can also subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.

I knew I knew Sam’s flashback girlfriend from somewhere, thanks for reminding me it was Dean’s sucky wife. Sookie is definitely way too blinded by love this season, Bill kind of grates me now and I think Eric is a more interesting character, plus he’s so hunky! *SWOON*
You guys should definitely do a FNL podcast, I’d be interested to hear what you thought of the Tim/Becky relationship as I know there were some lady haters on that one. Good stuff! Keep ‘em coming.
Thanks so much. I was feeling really self conscious about the podcast due to the technical difficulties, so kind of a relief to read your comment.
Still working on making things better, but glad it wasn’t a total disaster.
Yeah, we will definitely talk about the Tim/Becky relationship. I hated her at first, but then I definitely warmed to her.
“Pete is not worth banging your head over.” Amen and amen. That being said, I too am loving Peggy this season. Her reaction to being kissed by that girl was so unexpected. She didn’t freak out, she just kind of laughed it off, saying I have a boyfriend. And I LOVED her, “No, but he’s renting it.” Killed. And the scooter image still brings a smile to my face. I love how in depth you guys get into about MadMen. Stuff I have not even thought of at all. (Though I admit to not being nearly the fans that you two are).
THANK YOU for hating on Sookie and her blind love for Bill. I can NOT stand it. I have never really been a big fan of Bill in the first place, but he has not done anything very loveable this season and yet there she stands. It makes me appreciate Elena that much more. I too would welcome more Eric scenes with wide arms. I love his character (and his relationship with Pam). He’s just so interesting. I too wouldn’t mind seeing more into how and why he feels the way he does about Sookie. What is it? I love you called her a “romantic nitwit.” So true. And YES PLEASE to more Alcide. I don’t really care for the wherewolves, but he is just dreamy. Sexy, tall, dark and handsome. I don’t want him to fall for Sookie, but it’s enivatable I guess. Seriously the man is a God. And I completely agree about Jessica and Hoyt. They are my favorite couple. So stinking cute.
Hip hip hooray to doing FNL podcast. So much good stuff that I am exploding at the thought. I too would like to hear your thoughts on Tim/Becky. I was one of the haters, for sure. I just plain hated Becky. Never warmed to her.
Oh and I have never read a Harry Potter book. Are we still friends?
Awesome comments! “It makes me appreciate Elena that much more.” WORD.
As for Harry Potter, I may have to shame you publicly on Twitter, so that you will bend to peer pressure and read. They are my favorite books by a modern author. We both loved The Hunger Games, so you should trust me and start reading.
