San Diego Comic-Con 2010: Highlights from around the web
I didn’t make it to SDCC, but I’ve been following all the news via Twitter, and it was quite the whirlwind of awesome. If you need some help catching up with all the goodies to come out of San Diego, I’m here for you. What follows is a linkapalooza of the television-related highlights from the convention coverage. Enjoy!
Whedonverse coverage:
If you think that your brain can handle Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams in a room together, then check out Buffyfest’s Live-blog from SDCC Visionaries panel.
Also, they have video coverage of the entire Joss Whedon & J.J. Abrams Visionaries panel.
And for Joss’s solo panel, check out Buffyfest’s live blog of the Joss Whedon Experience panel.
Full panel video for the Joss Whedon Experience panel is also up.
And don’t miss the video of Joss Whedon’s introduction as director of The Avengers, at the Marvel panel. Yeah, the folks over at Buffyfest are officially SDCC rock stars for covering all of that, for those of us who couldn’t make it.

The Vampire Diaries:
Carina Adly MacKenzie of Zap2it.com (aka @cadlymack, and one of my absolute favorites) was another SDCC rock star, and she posted some fab pieces. First up, a live blog from The Vampire Diaries panel, “bite by bite.” Also, check out her interviews with Nina Dobrev (Elena/ Katherine), Michael Trevino (Tyler), and Ian Somerhalder (Damon). Good stuff.
Kristin Dos Santos and Tierny Bricker (aka @tbrick_2, whom I adore) posted the following for Watch with Kristin: Vampire Diaries: Will Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder smooch again? We ask ‘em.
Kristin also posted a whole bunch of video interviews with the cast: E!Online Vampire Diaries Videos.
You can watch a live stream video of the panel via UStream.tv.
Alternatively, The Vampire Diaries panel is up on YouTube. See Part I below, and then check out LittleRavenHawk’s channel for the rest.
Not included on the UStream vid or the panel vid above is the trailer for season 2. You can catch a bootleg version of the trailer here. Oh.My.Katherine! Waaaaaaaaaaaay too excited for next season. Once an official HQ version of the trailer is available, I will post it.
For anything I missed, which is A LOT, check out my most favorite fansite ever, Vampire-Diaries.net.
And to cap it all off, here is the best Vampire Diaries related photo to come from SDCC:

Nina Dobrev (@ninadobrev) posted this on her Twitter page over the weekend, with the following message: "My first encounter with a Storm trooper, kicked his ass and stole his gun."
Supernatural coverage:
Carina Adly MacKenzie of Zap2it.com (busy busy girl!) also offers us two great Supernatural articles, with accompanying video interviews: Supernatural Season 6 takes on pasty waify Twilight and Vampire Diaries vamps and Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles talk season 6, plus what they hate about each other’s characters. My favorite part is when Dean Forester, um, I mean Jared, winks at her. Immortalized on video forever.
Full Supernatural panel video is up on YouTube. Check out Part I below, and then go to Gonturan74′s channel for the rest.
If you’re a Smallville fan:
Kryptonsite and SmallvillePodcast.com have extensive coverage, so definitely check them out.
Check out Megan Masters’ coverage for E!Online: Smallville Stars Promise Comic-Con and Thousands of Fans a Fabulous Final Season. Gotta love that alliteration, and the scoop is great too.
The full Smallville panel vide0 is also up on YouTube. Check out Part I below, and the rest at Gonturan74′s channel.
Not included in that video is the stellar retrospective, season by season, that all the attendees were raving about. A bootleg version of that video can be seen here. However, CWtelevision has posted a HQ version of the season 10 trailer, included at the end of that video, which I have posted below:
Wow. Just wow.
True Blood:
For those of you who are book fans, Charlaine Harris had her very own panel, which you can read all about on True-Blood.net. Also, Charlaine talked to Hanh Nguyen of Zap2it here and here.
For you fans of the show, I recommend Zap2it writer Jethro Nededog’s video interview with Joe Manganiello, the oh-so-dreamy Alcide: True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello: It’s a good time to be a werewolf. Jethro also offers us a minute-by-minute report of the True Blood panel.
And if you still want more True Blood scoop, check out Megan Masters spoiler-filled piece for E!Online, about all the “True Blood Shockers.”
Full True Blood panel video is up on theFemmeBot.com, courtesy of @ProgGrrl.
Glee:
For all the Glee scoop, Carina has us covered, once again: Justin Bieber, Artie and Tina’s Break-up, and Lesbian Kisses?
For Team Watch With Kristin’s (@kristindsantos @megmasters @drumoorhouse @jbomb11 @tbrick_2) live coverage of all of the Sunday television panels, including Glee, Castle, Smallville, and Supernatural, go here.
And the full Glee panel video is up on theFemmeBot.com.
Chuck:
Megan Masters of E!Online provides all the Chuck panel scoop: Chuck gets famous new mama, while Jeffster goes Gaga for Comic-Con.
Jay and Jack Productions offers full video coverage of the panel, via NudiaTV’s channel. I’ve posted Part I, but check out Nudia TV for the rest.
And perhaps the best thing to come out of Comic-Con, or, rather, Pacey-Con, is the following video, made by Joshua Jackson for FunnyorDie.com:

Wow! First of all, thanks for the kudos, we really appreciate it! Second, this is an awesome post. We were so busy with our Whedonverse duties that we didn’t even get to see half of what we wanted…so this sums it up so nicely.
We did, however, get to see the Supernatural panel in real life. Since I’ve finally finished S.5, I really couldn’t resist those Winchester boys
You’re very welcome! It was SO much easier to keep up with the Whedonverse stuff this year, with you guys covering. I enjoyed all the posts, so thank you. Yeah, it seems like you really have to pick your priorities when it comes to SDCC–there’s just no way you can manage to see everything you want. A good lesson for next year’s con, which I have vowed to finally attend. (Though I hear that preview night has already sold out, and badges aren’t even for sale online yet!) As for those Winchester boys, resistance is futile.
