Which of my favorite shows will Gina Torres guest star on next?| Fancast News

2009 November 13

I’ll give you a hint – there are vampires involved.   Yes, Matt Webb Mitovitch reports on Fancast.com that Gina Torres will be guest starring on The Vampire Diaries. Could that show get any cooler?  I love this news!  Mittovitch writes (slightly spoilery details, so be warned):

“Sources tell me that Torres will guest star on the freshman drama’s 10th episode as Bree, a ‘past’ associate of Damon’s. Being a bit of a witch, Bree possibly holds the key to the more sinister Salvatore brother acquiring something he desperately wants – access to a tomb.”

I first saw Gina in her role as the devious Anna on Alias, and then later I loved her even more as Zoe Washburne on Firefly.  Torres also had a recurring role on 24, and a short guest-starring stint on Gossip Girl (both turns rather disappointing, as they didn’t feature nearly enough Gina).  I understand that Torres can currently be seen on FlashForward, but I have yet to watch that new series–I should clearly try to catch up.

Yeah, that seems to be what the description hints at. It would also be cool if she was featured in a flashback. I’m certainly intrigued!

Man, they should just give all the Firefly alumni a show together.

You know, like a second season of Firefly.

I wish. Sadly, that is extremely unlikely. It does seem that almost the entire Firefly cast is pretty steadily employed, though, so good for them.
