MELROSE PLACE: Latest news update

2009 October 25

If you still aren’t sure about the new Melrose Place, don’t give up yet. Michael Ausiello recently reported that Ashlee Simpson Wentz (Violet), the show’s weakest link according to most viewers, has been let go, along with Colin Egglesfield (Auggie). The mystery regarding who killed Sydney should be solved by December, and we will see the last of Violet and Auggie by January. Thank you, TV gods. Also, everyone’s favorite bad girl, Amanda Woodward, will return on November 17th. Heather Locklear’s run on the show is indefinite, so let’s cross our fingers that she’s here to stay.

Here’s a short trailer announcing Amanda’s return:

There is no new episode this week, October 27th, but tune in November 3rd at 9/8c for episode 8, entitled “Gower.” The episode description reads: “Riley helps Jonah film a wedding and the two have a huge fight on the job; David begins to think he’s responsible for Sydney’s death; Ella confronts Lauren about the late nights she’s been working.”

The blond boy you like is David, and the blond girl who is the awesomest-character-and-carrying-the-show is Ella. David kind of annoys me, but he’s ok. I had no feelings for or against Auggie, which is why it’s probably a good thing his character is leaving. They clearly need more cute boys on the show. Ditto regarding Violet, but I think we all know the biggest problem with Violet is Ashlee’s acting skills.
